The latest installment in the Despicable Me universe, Minions & Monsters, opened at the Indian box office on July 2, 2026, with a net collection of ₹0.53 crore. The film, which released on a Thursday, recorded a modest start, with the original English version leading the charge.

Directed by Pierre Coffin, who also voices the beloved Minions, the film is produced by Christopher Meledandri and Bill Ryan under the Illumination Entertainment banner. The screenplay is written by Brian Lynch and Pierre Coffin.

The voice cast features an ensemble of talent including Pierre Coffin as the Minions, alongside Trey Parker, Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Bridges, Zoey Deutch, Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr. Waltz voices Max, a Hollywood director inspired by European filmmakers, while Bridges voices Frank and Elwood, the studio-head brothers. Eisenberg brings to life Dort, a robot-alien overlord.

Set in 1920s Hollywood, the film follows the Minions as they attempt to create their own monster movie using real monsters, only to unleash chaos on the world. This marks the third installment in the Minions prequel series and the seventh film in the Despicable Me franchise.

The original English version performed significantly better than the dubbed versions across India. The film's opening day performance suggests a steady start, with expectations of growth over its first weekend. Globally, Minions & Monsters has been produced on a budget of $85 million.
