Minions & Monsters Box Office Day 15: India Gross Crosses Rs 30 Crore, Film Turns Profitable
Minions & Monsters continues its successful run at the Indian box office, crossing the Rs 30 crore gross milestone on Day 15. With a worldwide gross of $33 million, the film has turned profitable for Universal Pictures.

The yellow havoc-makers of 'Minions & Monsters' continue their triumphant march at the Indian box office. The seventh film in Illumination's ever-expanding Gruniverse has crossed another significant milestone, proving that the global domination of everyone's favourite beady-eyed, gibberish-yapping weirdos remains firm and true.

On its fifteenth day (Wednesday, July 15), the film added an estimated Rs 0.65 crore net to its India total, pushing its total India net collection to approximately Rs 26 crore, with the India gross collection now standing at a commendable Rs 30.7 crore. The worldwide gross collection has reached an estimated $33 million, with the film having already crossed the $100 million milestone domestically in North America.

The film is directed by franchise mainstay Pierre Coffin, who also voices the beloved Minions, with Patrick Delage serving as co-director. The screenplay is written by Brian Lynch and Pierre Coffin, with a story by Brian Lynch. Produced by Illumination founders Christopher Meledandri and Bill Ryan, the film features an all-star voice cast including Christoph Waltz, Zoey Deutch, Jeff Bridges, Allison Janney, Bobby Moynihan, Jesse Eisenberg, and Trey Parker.

The film's Indian journey began on July 1 with a solid opening day net of Rs 1.80 crore. It showed excellent weekend growth, collecting Rs 2.50 crore on Day 2 and Rs 2.75 crore on Day 3, wrapping its opening weekend at a strong Rs 7.05 crore gross. The film has maintained its hold well into its third week, outperforming other Hollywood releases in the market.

With a reported production budget of approximately $80 million, the film has already crossed the $100 million mark domestically, making it a profitable venture for Universal Pictures. The film follows the Minions in 1920s Hollywood as they search for frightening creatures for their monster movie, partner with a green creature, and must save the planet after unleashing monsters.

As 'Minions & Monsters' enters its fourth weekend, the film will look to maintain its momentum and cross the Rs 35 crore gross milestone in India. Despite being the lowest-grossing film in the Minions franchise globally, its strong hold in the Indian market and consistent weekday collections suggest a healthy theatrical run ahead for this family entertainer.
