Illumination's Minions & Monsters is nearing the end of its theatrical run in India, collecting an estimated ₹94.2 lakh net across all languages on its 17th day of release (Friday, July 17). The animated family comedy has now entered its third week, and the collections reflect a significant decline from its earlier performance.
The film's total India net collection after 17 days now stands at approximately ₹32 crore, a modest figure for a Hollywood animation of this scale. While the film opened to a decent start of ₹1.25 crore on day 1, it has been unable to sustain momentum in a market dominated by other major releases.
A Star-Studded Cast and Crew
Directed by Pierre Coffin, the film features a voice cast including Pierre Coffin as the Minions, along with Trey Parker, Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg, and Zoey Deutch. The film is written by Brian Lynch and produced by Chris Meledandri and Bill Ryan. The film pays homage to Hollywood's silent era, following the Minions as they accidentally become movie stars in 1920s Hollywood.

Globally, Minions & Monsters had a strong opening, topping the North American box office with $36.4 million over its first three-day weekend and $61.4 million over the five-day Fourth of July holiday period. The film earned $85 million internationally from 71 markets, bringing its worldwide debut to $160 million.
Critics have praised the film, earning a 91% critics' rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Yet it marked the lowest domestic opening in the Despicable Me/Minions franchise. Despite the soft domestic numbers, the franchise remains a global powerhouse, having crossed $5.6 billion in worldwide box office.
