Minions & Monsters Day 2 Box Office: Animated Flick Sees Strong Growth, Crosses ₹1.2 Crore in India
Universal and Illumination's animated comedy Minions & Monsters collected an estimated ₹1.2 crore net on Day 2, marking a 100% jump from its opening day as family audiences flocked to theaters over the weekend.

After a modest start, Minions & Monsters showed significant growth on its second day at the Indian box office. The animated comedy, which released in India on July 2, collected an estimated ₹1.2 crore net on Day 2, representing a strong jump of approximately 100% from its opening day collection of ₹0.6 crore net.

With the film's Day 1 collection of ₹0.6 crore and Day 2 net of ₹1.2 crore, the total India net collection now stands at an estimated ₹1.8 crore over its first two days. The film's total India gross collection has reached approximately ₹2.16 crore. The film is currently running across over 1,000 shows in India.

Directed by Pierre Coffin, who also voices the beloved Minions, the film is produced by Christopher Meledandri and Bill Ryan under the Illumination Entertainment banner. The screenplay is written by Brian Lynch and Pierre Coffin.

The film features a star-studded voice cast including Pierre Coffin as the Minions, alongside Allison Janney, Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg, Christoph Waltz, Zoey Deutch, Trey Parker, Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr. Waltz portrays a film director, while Bridges plays the head of a movie studio in this 1920s Hollywood-set adventure.

Set in 1920s Hollywood, the film follows the Minions as they attempt to create their own monster movie using real monsters, only to unleash chaos on the world. This marks the third installment in the Minions prequel series and the seventh film in the Despicable Me franchise.

The significant growth on Day 2 is a positive sign for the film's first-week performance, indicating strong word-of-mouth and family audience turnout during the weekend. In India, the original English version has been performing better than the dubbed versions. Circuit-wise, the South and Bombay circuits have contributed the most to the film's Indian collections.

Globally, Minions & Monsters has performed well, with a reported production budget of $85 million. The film's Day 2 growth suggests it may continue to show strong momentum through its first weekend and beyond.
