The Odyssey

The Odyssey is a 2026 epic mythological action-adventure film directed, written, and produced by Christopher Nolan. Serving as an ambitious adaptation of Homer's foundational Ancient Greek poem, the film marks Nolan's first foray into pure historical fantasy. It holds the distinction of being the first motion picture ever to be shot entirely on IMAX 70mm film cameras.

The story follows Odysseus (Matt Damon), the king of Ithaca, who embarks on a treacherous and grueling voyage home following the end of the ten-year Trojan War. Along the way, he and his crew must face terrifying mythological entities, such as the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens, and the nymph Calypso, all while his devoted wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Tom Holland) fend off aggressive suitors back home.
