The Alia Bhatt and Sharvari-starrer 'Alpha' is navigating a challenging second week at the box office. Despite a slight jump on the second discounted Tuesday, the film continues to struggle against its massive budget and stiff competition from other releases. According to early estimates, the film earned approximately Rs 1.05 crore net on its 12th day, marking a 16% increase from the previous day's collection.
A Disappointing Second Week Haul
With total India net collections reaching around Rs 56 crore, Alpha has now recovered only 56% of its reported budget of Rs 100 crore. The film's underwhelming performance is a stark contrast to the high expectations associated with the YRF Spy Universe and the novelty of being its first female-led installment. The film's total India gross currently stands at approximately Rs 66.08 crore, while worldwide gross collections are near the Rs 90 crore mark.
The Day 12 collection is crucial as it highlights the film's inability to maintain momentum during the weekdays after a tepid second weekend. It remains a long shot for the film to enter the top 10 highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2026, as it still needs to surpass the Rs 59.29 crore collection of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do.
Cast and Crew Spotlight
Directed by Shiv Rawail, acclaimed for his work on The Railway Men, Alpha was envisioned as an edge-of-the-seat action thriller. The film is produced by Aditya Chopra and features a screenplay by Soumil Shukla and Shridhar Raghavan. The film boasts a strong technical team, with Rubais composing the music and Dinesh Purushothaman handling the cinematography.
Apart from Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, the film features key performances from veteran actors Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. As the film approaches the end of its theatrical run, the box office numbers suggest that despite the star power and the backing of a major franchise, Alpha will likely wrap up as a losing financial affair in India.
