Alpha Box Office Collection Day 5: Alia Bhatt's Spy Thriller Shows Resilience, Earns Rs 4.25 Crore
Yash Raj Films' 'Alpha' witnessed a slight uptick in collections on its first Tuesday, Day 5. As per early estimates, the film minted Rs 4.25 crore, taking its domestic net total to Rs 42.10 crore and pushing its worldwide gross past the Rs 70 crore mark.

After a sharp decline on its first Monday, the YRF Spy Universe's first female-led chapter, Alpha, demonstrated resilience at the box office on its fifth day. The action thriller registered a slight jump in collections on Tuesday, earning an estimated Rs 4.25 crore net across India.

This marks a modest growth of approximately 10% from its Day 4 collection of Rs 3.85 crore, a positive sign for the film's weekday performance. The first Tuesday test is often crucial in determining a film's staying power, and this upward trend suggests that the film is maintaining a steady hold over its audience.

Alpha's total India net collection now stands at an estimated Rs 42.10 crore after five days. On the global stage, the film has crossed a significant milestone, with its worldwide gross collection surpassing the Rs 70 crore mark. This includes a strong performance in overseas markets, where the film added approximately Rs 1.50 crore on Tuesday, taking its total international gross to Rs 19.80 crore.

The film maintained a steady occupancy throughout the day, with national averages hovering around the 19% mark, a slight improvement over the previous day's figures. The action thriller's performance in multiplexes and metropolitan cities remained consistent, contributing significantly to the day's total.

Directed by Shiv Rawail—who is celebrated for his work on The Railway Men—and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, Alpha features a powerhouse cast. Alia Bhatt leads the charge as the fearless agent Sita, while Sharvari plays a key operative in the mission. The film also features Anil Kapoor as RAW Chief Vikrant Kaul and Bobby Deol as the formidable antagonist Fateh Singh Lakhawat. Hrithik Roshan makes a special appearance as the beloved spy Kabir Dhaliwal, creating a major buzz among fans of the spy universe. The screenplay, crafted by Soumil Shukla and Shridhar Raghavan with dialogues by Ishita Moitra, anchors the narrative, while Rubais' cinematography and the background score by Rohansh & Abeer and Sanchit Balhara lend the film its edgy visual and auditory flair.

Despite the star power, the film's weekday performance remains crucial for its overall success. With no major releases during the week, Alpha is expected to stabilize in the coming days. Trade analysts predict that the film will likely cross the Rs 50 crore mark in its first week, depending on how it holds up against the upcoming competition.
