Evil Dead Burn Box Office Day 6: Hollywood Horror Holds Strong, Eyes Rs 25 Crore Week in India
The sixth installment in the iconic horror franchise, 'Evil Dead Burn', continues its solid run at the Indian box office. After a strong weekday recovery, the film is on track to close its opening week at nearly Rs 25 crore gross, fueled by a steady Day 6 collection.

The supernatural terror of 'Evil Dead Burn' refuses to fade at the Indian box office. The film, directed by French filmmaker Sébastien Vanicek, has maintained a commendable grip on the market, particularly in its dubbed versions, as it heads into its second weekend.

On its sixth day (Wednesday, July 15), 'Evil Dead Burn' added an estimated Rs 2.50 crore to Rs 2.70 crore net to its India total. This takes the film's total India net collection to approximately Rs 19.95-20.15 crore, with the India gross collection standing at around Rs 23.5 crore. The film's performance in the Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions has been a major driver, with the Hindi version alone contributing over Rs 5 crore net to the total.

The film's journey began with a strong opening of Rs 3.30 crore on its first Friday. It witnessed the typical weekend surge, collecting Rs 4.45 crore on Saturday and peaking at Rs 4.90 crore on Sunday. After the standard Monday dip to Rs 2.10 crore, the film saw a healthy recovery on Tuesday, earning Rs 2.70 crore. This upward trend on Day 6, as the film enters its second week, confirms that it is holding up well despite mixed critical reviews, outperforming other holdover releases in the market.

The film's total India gross is now eyeing the Rs 25 crore mark by the end of its first week, a solid figure for a Hollywood horror title in the Indian market. Its success also makes it a major contender to surpass the India net total of its franchise predecessor, Evil Dead Rise, which collected approximately Rs 29 crore.

Starring Hunter Doohan, Souheila Yacoub, and Luciane Buchanan in lead roles, the film follows a grieving widow who seeks solace with her in-laws, only to find them transforming into the grotesque Deadites. The ensemble cast also features Tandi Wright, Erroll Shand, and Maude Davey.

Produced by horror legends Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, 'Evil Dead Burn' is the third standalone entry in the franchise, shot entirely in New Zealand. With its strong hold, the film is heading for a 'Clean Hit' verdict in India and is expected to continue its rampage through the week.
