Evil Dead Burn Box Office Day 8: Horror Film Holds Strong Against The Odyssey, Crosses Rs 26.75 Crore
Evil Dead Burn continues its impressive run at the Indian box office on Day 8, collecting an estimated Rs 1.30 crore despite competition from Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. The film's total India gross now stands at Rs 26.75 crore.

The supernatural terror of 'Evil Dead Burn' continues to defy expectations at the Indian box office, holding strong even as it faces stiff competition from Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. On its eighth day (Friday, July 17), the horror film added an estimated Rs 1.30 crore gross to its India total, bringing its running collection to a commendable Rs 26.75 crore.

This Day 8 collection represents a 35% drop from the previous day's Rs 2 crore gross, which is considered a promising hold for a Hollywood horror film entering its second weekend, especially given the release of a major competitor. The film has maintained its stronghold in South India and major metropolitan cities, with the dubbed versions continuing to attract audiences across the country.

Directed by French filmmaker Sébastien Vanicek and produced by horror legends Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, 'Evil Dead Burn' features Hunter Doohan, Souheila Yacoub, and Luciane Buchanan in lead roles. The film is the sixth installment in the iconic Evil Dead franchise and the third standalone entry after Evil Dead and Evil Dead Rise.

The film's day-wise gross collection in India includes previews of Rs 0.65 crore, followed by Rs 3.30 crore on Day 1, Rs 5.40 crore on Day 2, Rs 6.00 crore on Day 3, Rs 2.50 crore on Day 4, Rs 3.35 crore on Day 5, Rs 2.25 crore on Day 6, Rs 2.00 crore on Day 7, and an estimated Rs 1.30 crore on Day 8.

With its first week already outperforming Curry Barker's Obsession (which grossed over Rs 22 crore in its opening week), 'Evil Dead Burn' is on track to become one of the highest-grossing Hollywood horror films in India. The film is poised to surpass the franchise's previous India lifetime collection of approximately Rs 39 crore gross, potentially entering the Rs 50 crore club.

As the film enters its crucial second weekend, its performance against Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey will determine its long-term trajectory. However, with positive word-of-mouth and limited direct competition in the horror genre, the film has a strong opportunity to continue its theatrical success.
